EY has predicted it will need to move 50% to 60% of its 15,000 global internship placements online as it prepares for a summer of disruption caused by restrictions put in place during the coronavirus pandemic.
The firm's global internship programme runs across EY's offices in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, India, Africa and Asia Pacific – of which there are more than 700. The interns will be paid the same rate they would have received in previous years but will now be working from home, a spokesman for the firm said. The internships would typically range between one and six weeks in duration, depending on the location.
