EY’s high-level talks on whether to split its audit and consulting arms are set to continue into the autumn, despite hopes that a decision would be made by the end of August.

A person with knowledge of the talks told Financial News in mid-August that they expected a decision on a break-up to be taken by the end of the month. However, talks are still ongoing, according to another person with knowledge of the discussions.
