F&C Asset Management, the UK fund manager, this morning promoted Richard Wilson to the new role of head of equities, and strengthened its UK government bond desk with the appointment of Paul Grice from Baring Asset Management.

Wilson has been with the group since September 2004 as head of pan European equities and is a member of the management committee.
