F&C wins bond mandate at UK chemicals firm

Foreign & Colonial has won a £90m (€146.5m) bond mandate with the £505m pension scheme of Octel, the UK chemicals company.

The appointment follows Octel's decision to drop Phillips & Drew, the UK investment arm of UBS Asset Management, which ran a £300m balanced mandate for the fund. Octel undertook a full benchmark and structure review of the fund's asset allocation before it made its decision.
