A Scottish investor known for its stakes in technology giants including Facebook, Amazon, Netflix and Google has bought shares in a trading venue that hopes to benefit from increasingly electronic bond markets.

Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust, which is managed by Edinburgh-based Baillie Gifford, revealed in its report for the first half of 2017 that it had taken a stake in MarketAxess Holdings.
