Mother Nature outperforms, especially in Scotland

Farmland and forests have soared over the past five years as the need for food and land grows more pressing

In search of the green shoots of recovery? Look no further than Mother Nature. UK farmland and forests have outperformed residential and commerical property over the past five years.

With the global shortage of land for food and renewable energy growing more pressing, farmland prices have risen on average by 148% in the past five years and 14% in the past year, according to Knight Frank, the estate agent. In particular, Scottish arable land and forests have soared in price.
