Charles Farquharson has left as head of UK institutional business at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) by mutual consent. He is yet to find a new job.

His exit, which results from an internal reorganisation, will rob MLIM of one of the few remaining figures who used to work for Carol Galley and Stephen Zimmerman at Mercury Asset Management before its purchase by Merrill Lynch.
