Banks have told the UK's markets watchdog that they have not axed a single client primarily because of their political views.

The Financial Conduct Authority launched an investigation after Coutts cut ties with former UKIP leader Nigel Farage earlier this year. Farage claimed that he had been discriminated against due to his political opinions, and the practice — which is illegal — was widespread.
