FCA eases some best execution rules for traders as virus squeezes markets

Executives in UK financial services want the regulator to do more to ease the industry's path through the current crisis

The UK's market regulator has promised trading firms extra leeway on certain reporting requirements while the coronavirus forces the industry to adjust its day-to-day business.

In a 'Dear CEO' letter to firms serving retail investors on its response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Financial Conduct Authority said it would offer supervisory flexibility to firms of their so-called best execution obligations in the current climate.
