FCA eyes reform to controversial EU retail fund rules

A consultation by the watchdog sets how EU rules could be changed to ensure Priips documentation provides more accurate information to investors

The UK's financial watchdog is looking to tweak controversial European Union rules that require asset managers to produce onerous investor documentation which the industry has consistently claimed is misleading.

Under the European Packaged Retail Investment and Insurance Products rules, all investment products sold to retail investors in the bloc are required to disclose extensive detail on expected investment returns  based on a range of possible market scenarios.
