The Financial Conduct Authority targeted hundreds of firms as part of a crackdown on money laundering reporting officers last year, Financial News has learned.

FN revealed last March that the City watchdog had contacted firms that had churned through three or more MLROs in the previous three years, noting that "in some firms significant turnover within this function has compromised effective oversight".
