The Financial Conduct Authority is one of Britain’s most important regulators. It demands the highest standards of internal governance and accountability from the firms it oversees. 

That makes it vital the FCA maintains the most exacting standards when it comes to its own conduct. When it fails to do so, as it has in its handling of internal whistleblowers, it is a very serious matter.
