Fund managers looking after up to £50bn for the UK's main public pension pot have signed up to a new transparency drive, as pressure mounts on money managers to come clean on their costs and trading practices.

Capital International, the $1.5tn US fund manager, yesterday became the sixth investment house to sign up to the Local Government Pension Scheme's Code of Transparency, launched last month.
