Fidelity positive on UK equities despite Brexit turmoil

With Brexit politics turning the UK into one of the world's most unloved stockmarkets, some fund managers are hunting for bargains

The manager of one of Britain's best-known investment funds believes the turmoil created by the country's impending departure from the European Union has generated a great opportunity to invest in UK equities.

Alex Wright, the top-performing manager of Fidelity International’s famed UK Special Situations fund, which manages £3bn, said he expects investors outside the country to “revisit the UK equity market” once Brexit happens in March — irrespective of whether Prime Minister Theresa May succeeds in getting her exit agreement through Parliament.
