Over a million savers are now paying lower costs and charges towards their pensions, according to a joint report by the City regulator and the Department for Work & Pensions, although it pointed out that price improvement in many cases still remains "unsatisfactory".

The DWP and the Financial Conduct Authority said on December 13 that many pension providers have made "significant progress" in cutting costs and charges.
