Financial services lobby appoints new chief

International Financial Services London, an independent organisation that promotes Britain's financial services industry, has appointed Sir Stephen Wright, Britain's former ambassador to Spain, as its new chief executive.

Wright joined the Diplomatic Service in 1968 and served as British ambassador to Spain between 2003 and 2007. He has also acted as Britain's permanent representative to the EC, deputy head of mission in Washington and counsellor in New Delhi.
