Finnish institutions increase international flavour

Finnish pension funds and insurers continue to boost international investments, according to statistics from Työeläkelaitostenliitto (Tela), the Helsinki-based occupational pension association.

International investments in Finland rose from 16% at the end of 1999 to 40% by the end of 2000, showing a dramatic shift to international assets, according to Tela. The Finnish pension funds' and insurers' assets total FM256bn (€43bn).
