Finnish private equity firms increased deals in 2001

Finnish private equity firms marginally increased the number of investments they made in 2001 but saw an overall drop in the value of deals, according to preliminary figures released by the Finnish Venture Capital Association.

Finnish firms made 432 investments in 2001, slightly up from 398 the previous year. However, the total value invested was €344m ($325m), down from €384m in 2000. This follows the same pattern as the UK, where of a smaller total amount was invested in a greater number of investments.
