Fintech firms distance themselves from Wirecard

The payments firm filed for insolvency this morning after auditors discovered a €1.9bn hole in its balance sheet

UK fintech firms were preparing for life after Wirecard months before the German payments business filed for insolvency this morning.

Revolut and Curve, two of the UK’s largest digital banks, claim they have been transitioning away from using Wirecard’s services, while others in the sector say events at the company are not specific to fintech.
