Illuminate Financial, a London-based venture capital firm that invests in capital markets fintech, has strengthened its matchmaking capabilities between startups and financial institutions with the appointment of a former UBS and IHS Markit managing director.

Roger Spooner joined the firm as head of strategic partnerships in November, the company confirmed to Financial News.
