First Russian IPO in 18 months raises $207m

Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods, a juices and dairy products manufacturer, has raised $207m (€237m) in the first initial public offering from a Russian company in 18 months.

David Iakobashvili, chairman of the board of directors of Wimm-Bill-Dann, said: &quotWe are the first Russian consumer goods company to list on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). In addition to raising capital to fund our development, this IPO will enhance our transparency and demonstrate our commitment to becoming an international player.&quot
