F&C Asset Management has hired five UK equity managers who left Deutsche Asset Management last week, claiming that its takeover by Aberdeen Asset Management could have created a clash of investment cultures.

The five are Peter Lees, the former head of UK equities at DeAM, Phil Doel, who ran the successful DWS UK Opportunities Fund, Luke Newman, Makis Kaketsis and Michael Ulrich.
