FIX Protocol, the organisation which maintains the standard messaging service for the financial markets, has appointed a Morgan Stanley managing director to help oversee the system's development in Europe.

The company has appointed Eli Lederman as co-chair of its Europe regional committee. Lederman, who will be working in the role alongside Barry Marshall of Gartmore Investment Management, is a managing director in Morgan Stanley's institutional equity division.
