New Rentokil Initial chief executive Doug Flynn today hinted that the group will be making much bigger acquisitions to help turn the group around.

Flynn, in his eighth week at the group, said after the annual meeting: "Historically, acquisitions here have been bolt on deals with the aim of just taking costs out and combining with an existing business. What we will be doing in future is more strategic deals. Not just a mom and pop tropical plants operation."
