Foggy thinking may inflict a European caning on Britain

Europe would not be damaged if the United Kingdom exited the EU, rather it would benefit

The prospect of Britain abandoning the European Union has triggered anxiety all round. European politicians as well as US President Barack Obama have been rushing to express their profound worry about the adverse consequences of a Brexit from continental Europe.

They shouldn't bother. With Britain out of the way, Europe would be allowed to get on with the kind of fiscal, banking and labour integration defined as unification.
