Forced sales weigh on loan market

The deteriorating market for leveraged loans in the US and Europe is being made worse by the forced sales by hedge funds and other leveraged investors, which have hit liquidation triggers.

Loan prices have slipped from around 97 cents on the dollar last September to trade in the the low 90s and below in the past month.
