Texas Pacific Group, the US private equity investment firm, has appointed Bernard Attali, a former chairman of Air France, as country adviser for France. Attali's hire coincides with TPG's decision to increase the size of its TPG Partners IV fund to $5.3bn (€4.6bn), from its initial target of $4.5bn.

The company said the increase was a result of higher demand from investors.
