The Bank of England’s quantitative easing policy, which has boosted markets and kept interest rates low since the financial crisis of 2008, may never come to an end in any meaningful way, according to one of the economists who voted for it.

David Miles, who was a member of the central bank’s monetary policy committee during the financial crisis, told an audience of pension fund investors: “I am not sure QE will be unwound, particularly in the UK.”
