Former Tyco bosses charged with fraud

Kozlowski and Swartz looted hundreds of millions of dollars

Dennis Kozlowski, former chief executive of Tyco, has been indicted on fraud charges and sued by both the Securities and Exchange Commission and Tyco itself for hundreds of millions of dollars.

Kozlowski and Mark Swartz, former chief financial officer of Tyco, have been charged with enterprise corruption and each face up to 25 years in jail. The charges brought by the Manhattan District Attorney state that the two stole $170m (€173m) from Tyco and embezzled a further $430m.
