Hedge funds have given $1.1m (€816,000) to US presidential candidates this year, with nearly 75% going to Democrats. The biggest contributor was Fortress Investment Group.

Absolute Return magazine, which follows hedge funds, joined the Center for Responsive Politics in analyzing 100 hedge funds that all manage billions of dollars.
