It seems Financial News' associate editor Mike Foster will go to any lengths to win an award even if it means making a plank of himself.

Foster last week collected the prize for best fund management journalist of the year (trade magazine and websites) for the third consecutive time at an event sponsored by State Street Global Advisors.
