France will seek to boost its influence at the EU’s top securities watchdog as the UK exits the bloc, according to a senior executive at the French markets regulator.

Guillaume Eliet, the head of regulatory policy and international affairs at France’s Autorité des marchés financiers, told Financial News that the regulator had decided “be very active” at the European Securities and Markets Authority given Brexit will change the dynamics within the agency.
