France Télécom credit rating under threat

Orange, the quoted mobile phone subsidiary of France Télécom, could see its debt-raising ambitions hampered after international rating agencies threatened its parent with a downgrade, according to analysts.

Orange, whose credit rating is tied in with that of France Télécom, is looking at raising substantial funds in the new issue market for bonds, as it prepares to expand and use debt capital to make acquisitions.
