France Télécom capitalised on strong investor appetite for cheap corporate debt by adding $6.4bn (€6.8bn) to its $10bn jumbo bond issue on Tuesday.

The French company drew the line at $16.4bn - having built an order book in excess of $25bn - but its bond issue still topped Deutsche Telekom's $14.6bn record-breaking corporate bond issue last year.
