France Télécom rating under pressure

France Télécom, the debt-burdened French telecoms company, looks likely to survive the year with its credit rating intact despite problems for NTL, the UK cable company in which it is the largest single shareholder.

NTL, which is trying to restructure around $17bn (€19bn) of debt, was downgraded last week, raising fears of knock-on negative effects on shareholder France Télécom.
