The Dexia Group has appointed François Pauly as chairman of the executive board and managing director of Dexia Banque Internationale à Luxembourg. Pauly will replace Frank Wagener, who became chairman of the board of directors of the bank at the end of March.

Pauly started his career in 1987 working for Dexia BIL's financial markets department. He subsequently held the posts of director of communication and marketing and director of retail banking for all activities in Luxembourg before moving to Italy to manage the Dexia Group's Italian subsidiaries. On his return in 2003, he became head of private banking in Luxembourg. From 2004 until 2010, Pauly was managing director of Sal. Oppenheim.
