Franklin Templeton names Ide to lead Europe sales following Legg Mason deal

Ahead of the $4.5bn acquisition’s completion at the end of this month, Franklin names the leadership for its new-look salesforce in the region

Franklin Templeton, a large US asset manager that acquired rival Legg Mason in February, has announced the sales leadership team for the combined firm in Europe — elevating the CEO of a Scottish Legg Mason subsidiary to lead its distribution efforts in the region.

Julian Ide, the chief executive of Martin Currie Investment Management since 2019, has been named as Franklin Templeton’s new head of distribution for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in addition to his existing role.
