Stuart Fraser, star European equities manager at Standard Life Investments, has resigned a month after the departure of Nigel Bolton from a similar role at Edinburgh-based fund house Scottish Widows Investment Partnership.

Fraser resigned this week and is currently on gardening leave, according to Standard Life. He is moving to rival Edinburgh asset manager Aegon, according to a source close to the firm.
