French aim to follow UK in unbundling

France's investment regulator wants to follow the UK's Myners Commission and introduce rules restricting soft commission and unbundling broking fees paid by institutional investors.

The Autorité des Marchés Financiers said the proposed rules had been investigated by a working group, which produced a report last year. It recommended following the example of the UK Financial Services Authority by pressing the industry to disclose trading commissions and clarify how broker services are paid for.
