Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s average partner pay climbed past the £2m mark in the last financial year, as the City's elite law firms continue to bolster their coffers.

Profit per equity partner was £2.07m for the year ended 30 April, a record high and an 8% increase on £1.91m the previous year.
