‘Frustrated and powerless’ Ukrainians in London scramble to help war effort

Ukrainians working in the City are working to help friends and relatives caught in the conflict

Petro Levchenko left Ukraine’s capital city, Kyiv, when he was 16. He spent the past 14 years working at banks in London including BNP Paribas and Credit Suisse, before switching to run a cryptocurrency hedge fund. 

His father and grandfather are still in Kyiv. Levchenko has watched in horror over the past two weeks as his home country has been invaded by Russian military, with ever-more aggressive tactics as they lay siege to a country being fiercely defended by Ukrainian forces.
