FSA spells out rules on soft commissions

The Financial Services Authority is to restrict perks such as entertainment and computer software that result from fees paid to brokers by fund managers under so-called soft commission arrangements.

In its final consultation document on the issue of execution and research services, published today, the FSA said fund managers should limit dealing commission paid to brokers to the purchase of execution and research services.
