Fund management acquisition weighs on CDC Ixis profits

CDC Ixis, France's third largest banking group, reported 2002 full year profits at €101m ($107m), a 74% drop on the previous year.

The bulk of the fall in profits relates to a €299m amortisation on the October 2000 acquisition of Nvest, a group of fund management companies with €147bn in assets under management that was subsequently renamed CDC Ixis Asset Management North America.
