Private equity-owned UK betting and bingo group Gala Coral revealed a small rise in profits in an annual report that met or exceeded the recommendations of the recently-published Walker Report on transparency and disclosure in private equity, as it revealed in detail the breakdown of the debt on its balance sheet.
Walker's recommendations called for private equity-owned companies, which as unlisted entities are not legally bound by the same stringent reporting requirements as publicly-traded companies, to increase their level of disclosure.
