GAM CEO optimistic despite 'disappointing' first half

The chief executive of GAM believes that while the Swiss asset manager's half-year results were "difficult and disappointing", the business is on the right track.

"We are not there yet, but we will get there," Alexander Friedman told investors on a call after GAM reported on August 3 that its profits before taxes had nearly halved in the first six months of 2016 compared with a year earlier.
