Gartmore Investment Management has appointed Rob Giles as a senior UK smaller companies investment manager.

Giles joins the firm from Singer & Friedlander, where he was responsible for managing more than £400m (€656m) of investments for a wide range of clients, of which a quarter was run aggressively and focused on the small and mid cap sectors.
