Gartmore Investment Management has been dropped by the Torfaen County Borough Council, after the UK local authority hired specialist active managers to run more than half its pension assets.

Gartmore previously handled 40% of the £700m Greater Gwent pension fund in a UK equity portfolio. The loss comes as the investment house attempts to improve its long term track record and restructure alongside more specialist asset class lines.
