GE Asset Management, General Electric's fund management arm, has hired John Simpson as regional director of institutional sales and marketing, to boost its European operations.

The Stamford, Connecticut-based investment management firm, spun off from the pension scheme of General Electric, set up London operations last year. The office focuses solely on pan-European institutional business.
