F1 boss plots $12 billion Russian infrastructure firm

Gerard Lopez's investment firm has acquired a private equity firm focused on Russian infrastructure

Gerard Lopez, chairman of the Lotus Formula One motor racing team and an entrepreneur and early backer of Skype, is turning his attention to Russian infrastructure.

Luxembourg-based financier Lopez, who is chairman and chief executive of energy-focused private investor Nekton Global, will lead a new infrastructure investment group focused on Russia, after his firm acquired a 50% stake in Russian infrastructure firm Rise Capital, Nekton announced on Tuesday.
