ABN Amro Rothschild, the equity capital markets joint venture, has hired Ralf Nachtigall from Merrill Lynch as a managing director within its London equity capital markets team following signs of recovery in European ECM revenues.

He will be responsible for originating capital markets transactions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland alongside Pim Van der Velden. He will report to Richard Heald, co-chief executive of the venture and head of Rothschild's investment banking division in Germany.
